Service is the rent we pay for the privilege of living on this earth,” said New Yorker Shirley Chisholm. She and our Spelman sisters are no stranger to giving back to our communities. While the NY-NAASC seeks to provide opportunities for building connections with alumni, the NY-NAASC also upholds the value of giving back to the New York.

This year’s theme of service is Spelman Serves: No Woman Left Behind. Service initiatives target the many demographics of women in the city. In April, NY-NAASC partnered with Susan's Place, a woman's shelter in in the Bronx, to host professional clothing drive for their Classic Re-Runs Boutique.

Be on the look out for our seasonal service events. If you would like to engage in more frequent acts of servitude please visit New York Cares or NYC Service.
